I just bought a macbook online its a late 2007 and was running lion but it requires a reinstall. I dont have the disks for it but i doo have the origanal 10.5 install disks.
I can get as far as the app store login befor is says its unavailable. This is my only mac and i cant go to a desktop. How should i do this?

Your use machine should have been restored to its original state before you bought it.
You can still buy Snow Leopard from the Apple Store and then buy Lion from the Apple Store through a redemption code.
Well it should have been but it just boots to the reinstall screen. If i buy lion on the site will it let me reinstall online? Basicly do i need to buy lion oto associate it with my account to install it? And can i upgrade to el capitan from it?? On the site the specs should work...
Turn off the machine then turn it back on and hold down the option key on the keyboard. This will bring up the boot menu. What disks do you see?
The internet recovery option is tied to the original owners ID.
You can't start with Lion and must use Snow Leopard DVD to get the App Sore to redeem your Lion purchase.

Boot from it and try reinstalling the OS.
I have osx 10.5 but that doesnt have an app store right? And im not sure if the cd drive works but i do have an external cd drive

So how would i go about doing that? Could i install osx 10.5 then download 10.6 then upgrade? Would i need to pay for both (could i pay for 10.6 then upgrade to 10.7 ? I only have the disks for 10.5
No Apple boot disk ever had an App Store on it.
Boot into recovery partition and try reinstalling OS.
Buy and install Snow Leopard and then buy Lion redemption code from the Apple Store.
Redeem the code via the 10.6.8 App Store.

He has no other options.
He told me that in the boot menu he can see the recovery drive.
Reinstall os 10.7 or upgrade without install
